Weinstein Sworn Into 136th General Assembly

Today, state Senator Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) took the oath of office to serve his first term in the Ohio Senate during the 136th General Assembly. 

“I am deeply honored and excited to continue serving the people of Ohio as a state senator,” said Weinstein. “This new chapter brings great opportunities, and I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues in the Senate to create positive change and build a brighter future for our state. Together, we will work tirelessly to address the needs of our communities and ensure that every Ohioan has the opportunity to thrive. I am committed to being a voice for progress, accountability, and unity for the residents of the 28th District, and all Ohioans.” 

Casey was first elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2018, where he served three terms advocating for veterans, education, and renewable energy. As Ranking Member of the House Public Utilities Committee, he played a pivotal role in fighting for more affordable and sustainable energy policies and was appointed by Governor DeWine to serve on the state’s Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Education Commission.

Prior to his time in the Statehouse, Casey served as a Hudson City Councilman and held leadership roles in the U.S. Air Force. A 2004 graduate of the Air Force Academy, he earned his MBA from Ohio State University in 2007. Casey also works as a Director at ServiceNow, Inc., managing business development for the Department of Defense.

Casey is married to Amanda, an Economics Professor at The University of Akron, and they have three children. As he transitions to the Ohio Senate, Casey remains committed to fighting for the well-being of all Ohioans and the causes they value.

Senator Weinstein will represent the 28th Senate District, which encompasses Akron (part), Bath Township (part), Clinton, Coventry Township, Cuyahoga Falls (part), Fairlawn, Green, Hudson, Lakemore, Mogadore, Munroe Falls, New Franklin, Silver Lake, Springfield Township, Stow, and Tallmadge.
