Smith Statement on Delayed Data Center Legislation

Today, state Senator Kent Smith (D-Euclid) issued the following statement after the Ohio Senate voted to rerefer House Bill 646 back to the Senate Energy Committee.

“John Kasich gave away millions of Ohio taxpayer dollars ten years ago,” said Smith. “Those millions turned into billions under Mike DeWine. Tonight, Statehouse Republicans could have ended this tax giveaway, but they chose not to do so. This is the latest example of the GOP supermajority looking out for billion-dollar corporations and not everyday Ohioans.”
