Blessing Sworn into Ohio Senate for 135th General Assembly

COLUMBUS—State Senator Louis W. Blessing, III (R-Colerain Township) was sworn into the Ohio Senate during opening day ceremonies at the Ohio Statehouse. The ceremony marked the beginning of the 135th General Assembly. 

"I am honored to serve the people of this great state," Blessing said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Ohio Senate to continue to advance a conservative agenda for the state of Ohio." 

Blessing will continue to represent the 8th District, which includes the Western and Northern suburbs of Hamilton county. 

Blessing previously served in the Ohio House for four terms representing the 29th District. During his tenure in the House, Blessing was chairman of the Government, Accountability, and Oversight committee, as well as Primary and Secondary Education. For three of his four terms, Senator Blessing has served on the House Finance committee. Blessing is also serving his second term as chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee.

A lifelong Colerain Township resident, Mr. Blessing is a licensed, professional engineer by trade. He continues to work as a research and development engineer with Super Systems, Inc. in Sycamore Township. His work is in measurement and instrumentation, circuit board analysis and design, and embedded software. He is a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers.

Senator Blessing and his wife, Heather, live in Colerain Township with their three children: Louie, Jimmy, and Jonah, who was born a couple of months ago.
