COLUMBUS—State Senator Louis W. Blessing III (R-Colerain Township) announced the Senate passed Senate Bill 280 yesterday, which will extend the performance period for services under contracts between consumers and certain credit repair companies from three months to twelve months. "Senate Bill 280 breaks down barriers for repairing credit in Ohio, gives consumers more options, and makes Ohio a competitive repair market, all while continuing to protect consumers," Blessing said. Ohio's previous law, enacted in 1993, had become outdated, and was the shortest of the seven states that have time limits on credit repair contracts. The bill now moves to the House for consideration.
