COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) today joined state and local leaders to celebrate the largest economic development project in Ohio history.

Intel, a semiconductor company, plans to build a $20 billion manufacturing facility in Licking County, expected to create over 20,000 jobs. Dolan issued the following statement in response:

“Today’s announcement that Intel will build expansive semiconductor facilities in Central Ohio sends a clear message that Ohio is open for business. As Senate Finance Chair, I was proud to work with the Dewine administration and Jobs Ohio to incorporate megaproject tax incentives for operators and suppliers like Intel into the recently passed budget. Through the relentless pursuit of a pro-growth environment that centers upon less regulation, lower taxes, the education of a highly skilled workforce, and unrivaled access to abundant water and other resources, Ohio has solidified its standing as a leader in technology and innovation. The impact of this $20 billion investment partnership carries with it the clear understanding that Ohio will continue to play a lead role in enhancing America’s competitive edge and national security on the world stage in the years to come.”
