COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) today presented a resolution to Katie Nageotte, of northeast Ohio, for winning the Gold Medal in Women's Pole Vault at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"On a world stage, Katie showcased the American spirit through excellence, determination and hard work, making her an incredible role model for young athletes and an inspiration to all who know her," said Dolan.

A graduate of Olmsted Falls High School, Nageotte holds the state record at 3.97m. She went on to attend Ashland University where she was a two-time National champion. Nageotte earned gold clearing the pole vault bar at 4.9m at the 2020 Olympics. "Thank you for allowing the Ohio Senate to recognize you today. You have made our community, our state, and our entire country proud," Dolan added.
