Dolan Honors Chagrin Falls High School Girls' Soccer Team Champions
COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) presented a resolution to the Chagrin Falls High School girls’ soccer team for winning the 2021 OHSAA Division II State Championship. The team won the state title after a penalty kick shootout, breaking a scoreless tie after two overtimes. The Chagrin Falls Tigers defeated the Wyoming Cowboys 4-2 at the new Lower.com field in Columbus. Chagrin Falls finished the season with a record of 18-3-2, after playing one of the toughest schedules in the state. "Determination is a hallmark of this team," said Dolan. "Showing this kind of grit on the playing field is fantastic preparation for future success and I was proud to honor the team today on the Senate floor."

Co-head coaches Pamela Malone and Joe Ciuni were also recognized for being named 2021 Chagrin Valley Conference Coaches of the Year in girls soccer. In addition, Coach Malone received the United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year Award in the Small Public School Girls category. It was a fitting end to her 30-year career. With a record of 398-141-59, Malone retires with the most wins as a high school female soccer coach in state history.
