Dolan Recognized as Champion and Advocate for Victims of Domestic Violence

COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) today was honored by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN) as a champion and advocate for victims of domestic violence. "The consequences of domestic violence are felt in every community in our state, and we need to continue our efforts to help victims," said Dolan. "Thank you to ODVN and other advocates in Ohio for your work to help raise awareness and increase resources for those in vulnerable situations." As a member of the Ohio Senate, Dolan has voted in favor of several pieces of legislation over his time in the General Assembly to strengthen protections for victims and help survivors of abuse rebuild their lives. Most recently, Dolan led efforts in the budget to provide $7.5 million for domestic violence survivor services in Ohio.

ODVN is a statewide advocacy group comprised of over 70 shelters and rape crisis centers throughout the state. Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed in Ohio and throughout the country every October with the purpose of raising awareness and connecting advocates who are working to end violence.
