COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) released the following statement on the one-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel:

One year ago today, the world was shaken by the horrific terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas against the people of Israel. As we remember the lives lost, the families torn apart, and the communities devastated, we must reaffirm our unwavering support for Israel and the right to defend itself against such atrocities.

We must also recognize that as many as 97 people, including four Americans, are still held hostage by Hamas today. This is an unacceptable violation of human rights, and we must continue our efforts to bring our fellow Americans home.

This is a defining moment for our nation, and our commitment to Israel's security will protect American interests and serve as a beacon of hope in an otherwise tumultuous region. Our commitment to Israel, to the fight against terrorism, and to the eradication of antisemitism at home remains as strong today as ever. As we commemorate this solemn anniversary, let us be guided by the values of justice and peace through strength.
