COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) released the following statement today:

"I am very disappointed to learn that the Trump Administration has delayed the release of a plan to keep the Asian carp out of the Great Lakes.

Invasive species have often brought with them consequences that could not have been foreseen at the time of their introduction. However, that is not the case with the Asian carp. We know that this aggressive species has caused tremendous ecological and economical damage in other parts of the country, and that it will do the same here. This is a threat that we must contain.

Preserving our environment and growing our economy need not come at the expense of one another. The sooner we have a plan in place, the sooner we can ensure that Lake Erie and our other Great Lakes are protected from this destructive species."
