Huffman, Obhof Join VP During Visit to Lordstown Motors for Unveiling of the First Electric Truck

COLUMBUS—State Senator Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) today joined Vice President Mike Pence and other state and local leaders in Lordstown for the unveiling of Lordstown Motors’ new all-electric Endurance truck. "Ohio's regulatory reform efforts have helped make our state attractive to companies like Lordstown Motors," said Senator Huffman. "It was exciting to celebrate such a milestone today with the workers and the state, local and federal leaders who have put forth the efforts to see this kind of economic development in Northeast Ohio." Last year, the former GM factory in Lordstown was bought by Lordstown Motors Corporation, and they revealed plans to make the new all electric powered pickup truck called the Endurance. The rollout also included speeches by Jim Tressel and Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns. Vice President Pence road inside the Endurance as it drove onto the stage.

"Today marks another step forward for the future of Lordstown, and I appreciate the hard work of everyone who made this day possible," said President Obhof. "We will continue to fight for strong economic policies and opportunities like this for the hard-working families of Northeast Ohio."

Between Lordstown Motors and the partnership between LG Chem and GM, recent and upcoming investments in the region total over $2.3 billion and will lead to thousands of new jobs.
