COLUMBUS—State Senator Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester) is announcing the Department of Development will begin receiving applications on May 15 for the Residential Economic Development District (REDD) program.

"Growing Ohio's workforce necessitates growing the housing stock for our communities," said Senator Reynolds. "Many businesses and municipalities can benefit from these investments and I encourage all qualifying entities to submit an application."

The REDD Program provides funding for counties, townships, and municipal corporations located within 20 miles of a major economic development project to expand housing-related infrastructure, strengthen public safety and community services, or provide capital to support new housing development. $15 million in grant funding will be released for the upcoming round of applications. Funds will be awarded based on eligibility and an applied scoring metric.

The application period opens 10 a.m. May 15 and runs through 5 p.m. June 15. Applications received after the June 15 deadline will be considered for subsequent funding rounds, if available.
