Reynolds Commends Heroism at Canal Winchester Football Game
COLUMBUS—Senator Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester) presented commendations to law enforcement officers and civilians who assisted in multiple arrests at an August 18th Canal Winchester football game.
"Our law enforcement officers, including Madison Township police, consistently put their safety on the line to protect us," Reynolds said. "Without their collaboration and strict planning as well as the help of brave civilians, this threat could have escalated very quickly. We are immensely grateful for their quick response to protect students, staff, and spectators."
At the Canal Winchester High School football game on August 18, officers from Madison Township and a Fairfield County Sheriff's Deputy arrested four people and recovered three guns that were altered to fire fully automatic rounds. With the assistance of members of the Groveport Madison High School administrative staff and a member of the public, the suspects and their weapons were immediately apprehended.
