Senator Reynolds Announces Millions for District Projects

COLUMBUS—State Senator Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester) voted for Senate Bill 450, Ohio's Capital Budget, delivering millions in funding for community projects across the 3rd Senate District.

The State Legislature generally approves a capital appropriations budget every two years to fund needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.

"I'm proud to have secured funding for these impactful projects,” said Senator Reynolds. “These projects reflect the values of the communities I represent and I know they will strengthen our neighborhoods across the district. I look forward to watching the positive effect this funding will have on the region."

Projects receiving funding in the 3rd Senate District are the following:

Franklin County

  • Prairie Township Sports Complex Amenities Project - $1,000,000
  • Canal Winchester Area Historical Society Improvements - $605,000
  • Little Theatre off Broadway Improvements - $500,000
  • Town Center Park Improvements - $500,000
  • Van Buren Community Shelter Improvements - $350,000
  • McGill Park Old Town Connector - $250,000
  • HEART Market and Resource Hub Pantry - $200,000
  • Green Lawn Abbey Preservation Association - $125,000

Pickaway County

  • Barthelmas Park Aquatic Facility - $2,000,000
  • Pickaway Agriculture and Events Center - $500,000
  • Haven House Renovations - $345,000
  • Memorial Hall Improvements - $125,000
  • Ted Lewis Park Improvements - $125,000
  • New Hope Accessible Classroom Project - $100,000
  • Mt. Oval Historic House and Farm Project - $50,000

Madison County

  • Fire & EMS Training Facility of Central Ohio - $400,000
  • Close the Gap London - $300,000
  • McDowell Athletic Complex Renovation - $250,000
  • Plain City Splash Pad in Public Square - $250,000
  • Ohio Premier Training Facility - $200,000

The Capital Budget also directs $611 million to new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools, nearly $425 million to higher education institutions, and over $250 million towards supporting programs overseen by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
