COLUMBUS—State Senator Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today applauded the announcement of local investments through the Clean Ohio Trails Fund, which seek to improve outdoor recreational opportunities for Ohio families and promote tourism. Two area parks were chosen to receive funding as part of the recent announcement by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Lorain County Metropark and Sheffield Lake, totaling more than $725,000 for the construction of trails. "Well maintained parks contribute to an enhanced quality of life for area residents and help spur our local tourism industry," said Manning. "Ohio's vibrant park system is one of the finest in the nation, thanks to important investments like these." Clean Ohio Trails Fund grants are used to acquire land for new trails and to help build and improve trail infrastructure, linking statewide trails and connections from urban areas to recreational areas. The investments help facilitate travel and provide safe and scenic trails where Ohioans can hike, bike, run or roll to build healthy lifestyles.
