COLUMBUS—State Senator Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) received the Visionary Voice Award from the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (OAESV) during their Annual Advocacy Day at the statehouse. Senator Manning was nominated due to his stewardship of Senate Bill 100 and Senate Bill 237 which both passed in the 135th General Assembly.

"Throughout my time in the General Assembly, working on legislation that protects victims of sexual or domestic violence has been a challenging yet incredibly important goal of mine,” said Senator Manning. “I am honored to have received this award, and would like to thank my Joint Sponsors, Leader Antonio and Senator Gavarone, for their stewardship and for helping get these important pieces of legislation across the finish line."

The Visionary Voice Award is given each year to recognize the creativity and hard work of individuals who have demonstrated work to end sexual violence. The theme of this year's award was "Voices of Change" and honored the voices of those that lead change in our state and those advocating on behalf of survivors of sexual violence. “Senator Manning is an outstanding visionary voice in Ohio's legislature, and we thank him for his leadership and partnership to address the needs of sexual assault survivors and the services that support them,” said Emily Gemar, OAESV’s Director of Public Policy.
