Today, state Senator Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) announced the state Controlling Board approved several items containing contracts for businesses in Cleveland and Brook Park.
“This critical state investment in businesses across my district and the surrounding areas will help support economic recovery as we move forward from the Covid-19 pandemic,” Antonio said. “Investments such as these help small businesses continue to form the backbone of their local economies and employ hardworking Ohioans. I am encouraged by the state investment in Senate District 23 and I am hopeful it will continue as we begin the capital budget process next year.”
The funding items approved on December 13 include an $817,000 contract with Regency Construction Services in Brook Park for the Rockwell Hall Renovation project at Kent State University. Kent State also received approval for a $11.9 million contract with Independence Construction, LLC, in Cleveland for the White Hall Rehabilitation project at its main campus.
In addition to these projects, the Controlling Board released $353,500 for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) to contract with the Osborn Engineering Company in Cleveland for electrical upgrades at the Franklin Medical Center in Columbus. The Controlling Board also released $1.3 million for ODRC to contract with DS Architecture LLC in Cleveland for design services for the renovation of the Hocking Correctional Facility.
