Antonio Applauds Funding for Housing Project
State Senator Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) is pleased to announce that the Emerald Development and Economic Network in Cleveland will receive $500,000 to build apartments for local residents with severe mental health issues.

“When a person with a persistent mental illness secures housing, that newly found safety and stability positively impacts their whole life,” said Senator Antonio. “EDEN has been an engaged community partner, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to support Cleveland’s housing needs.”

EDEN is a nonprofit contract agency of the Cuyahoga County ADAMHS Board providing housing to people facing housing insecurities and homelessness. EDEN will operate the 71-unit apartment building.

The Cuyahoga County ADAMHS Board and its agencies have a wait list of individuals and/or families with severe and persistent mental illness in need of permanent, safe and affordable housing. This project will increase the number of independent housing units for those currently waiting for stable housing.
