This week, Ohio Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) appointed Eben “Sandy” McNair, J.D., to the newly-formed Ohio Election Integrity Commission for the term beginning January 1, 2026. Commission members serve two- to four-year terms and are responsible for overseeing the enforcement of Ohio’s election laws.

“For Ohioans to feel confident in our democracy, the Ohio Election Integrity Commission must be comprised of individuals who hold a deep understanding of our state’s electoral system and a commitment to fairness and accountability,” said Leader Antonio. “Mr. McNair's decades of expertise in election law and proven record of upholding the highest legal standards will be invaluable to the commission as it works to uphold the integrity and trust in our democratic processes.”

Atty. McNair is a former member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in the field of election law. He holds a J.D. from Cornell University and is admitted to practice before all Ohio courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
