Antonio Celebrates Passage of 'Ukraine Independence Day' Bill

Today, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) celebrated the Ohio Legislature’s passage of a bill that designates August 24th as ‘Ukraine Independence Day’. 

"With more than 4,000 Ukrainian-Ohioans living in the city of Parma and 2,000 in the city of Cleveland, I’m proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of the Ukrainian community in our state and in Senate District 23, that I represent,” said Antonio. “With this designation, we honor the heritage and the indomitable spirit of Ukraine as we stand together in support of their ongoing fight for freedom and democracy.”
