Antonio Praises Transportation Budget Concurrence Vote
Today, state Senator Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) praised the Ohio Senate’s concurrence to the conference amendments on House Bill 23, the state’s two-year transportation budget.
“The committee came together to address concerns related to force accounts and other differences,” said Leader Antonio, a member of the conference committee. “This legislation showcases bipartisan, bicameral agreement and compromise. It will invest in public transit, reduce fees on electric vehicles and guarantees good government protections for our railroads.”
H.B. 23 invests over $13 billion over the biennium in Ohio’s infrastructure to fund our roads, bridges, airports and trains. The budget allocates approximately $100 million over the next two years to public transportation initiatives and includes rail safety measures that have been in the works for the last decade.
The Ohio House of Representatives also voted to concur today, and the bill heads to the governor’s desk.
