Antonio Receives Covid-19 Vaccine in Lakewood

Today, state Senator Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at Discount Drug Mart in Lakewood. During her visit, Antonio received a walk-through of the pharmacy chain’s process by which they administer the Covid-19 vaccine throughout Northeast Ohio, including vaccine storage.
“Getting the Covid-19 vaccine is the first step forward in our long road to recovery from this pandemic,” said Antonio. “I encourage my neighbors, families and friends to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.”
At this time, Discount Drug Mart’s 76 locations throughout the state are providing Covid-19 vaccinations. Those eligible according to Governor Mike DeWine’s orders may sign up for an appointment at clinic.discount-drugmart.com/covid/register/. Once signed up, individuals will be alerted when an open slot is available.
“I am thrilled to see more vaccinations available,” Antonio said. “Even as more people get vaccinated, it is important to continue practicing social distancing and wearing facial coverings, following the guidelines, so we may truly overcome Covid-19.”
