Antonio Statement on Cleveland Orchestra Reaching Contract Agreement

Today, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) released the following statement after Cleveland Orchestra musicians reached an agreement after going on strike.

From big wins on the field to fair contract agreements for our musicians on stage, I am excited to see the headlines surrounding Cleveland this week, said Antonio. I have always been a strong supporter of the arts in my district and across the state. It was disheartening to hear that the musicians of the Cleveland Orchestra had to resort to a strike to reach a fair contract agreement. However, I was pleased to hear that the strike brought resolve and opportunity for growth and improvement. We must remember that the arts are a beacon of creativity, hope, and economic opportunity here in the state of Ohio.
