Antonio Statement on Senate Bill 63

Today, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) voted against concurrence on Senate Bill 63, which would withhold funding for local governments that use ranked choice voting.

“While I initially believed that our state was not ready for ranked choice voting, I've listened to my constituents who have made it clear that this is the best option for our community,” said Antonio. “I am changing my previous vote to stand with those who support ranked choice voting in my district and our state."

Senate Bill 63 now heads to the governor for his signature.
