Antonio Statement on Taiwan Earthquake

Today, Senate Democratic Leader and Co-Chair of the Taiwan Friendship Caucus Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) issued the following statement regarding the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan:

“As co-chair of the Taiwan Friendship Caucus, I was dismayed to see the news that the island was hit with this historic natural disaster,” said Antonio. “I grieve for the lives lost in this catastrophe and pray for those who were injured or are missing. The recovery effort begins now and I hope that we can all come together to provide relief for the Taiwanese people during this time of urgent need.”

The 7.4 magnitude earthquake is among the largest in Taiwan’s history and the strongest to hit the island since 1999.
