Antonio Statement on Veto of Tobacco Laws

Today, Senate Minority Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) released the following statement in response to Governor DeWine’s veto of legislation that would have blocked cities from banning harmful tobacco products or raising the age to buy them:

“Protecting the health and safety of Ohioans, especially children, should always be a top priority. I’m thankful that Governor DeWine vetoed this dangerous legislation,” said Senator Antonio. “Our local governments must have the ability to make decisions to keep their communities safe without unwarranted interference from the legislature.”
