Senate Democrats Urge Governor to Distribute Federal Relief for Ohioans
Today, the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus sent a letter to the governor urging him to distribute federally funded unemployment benefits after a judge ruled Wednesday that these benefits were terminated prematurely.
“Following yesterday’s ruling from Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Michael Holbrook, we, the undersigned members of the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus, urge you to swiftly obtain and distribute the $900 million in federally funded unemployment benefits from the pandemic to offer critical support to Ohioans,” said the letter. “If there is a cost-effective way for our state to offer crucial support to Ohioans, there is no reason not to accept these funds and ensure they get back the money they are owed and rightfully deserve.”
