Senator Antonio Appointed as Top Democrat on Transportation and Health Committees

The Ohio Senate recently announced that state Senator and Minority Whip Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) will serve as Ranking Democratic Member on the following committees for the 134th General Assembly:

• Transportation
• Health

“I appreciate the honor and responsibility of being in a leadership position on these Senate Committees and am eager to continue the important work for the people of Ohio, especially those from Senate District 23,” said Antonio. Senator Antonio will also serve on the following committees:

• Finance
• Rules and Reference
• Ways and Means
• Workforce and Higher Education

Committee assignments generally correspond to each senator’s policy interests and provide them with the opportunity to influence, alter and debate bills during the initial phase of lawmaking.
