COLUMBUS — The Ohio Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 398, a bipartisan effort by Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) and Senator Willis Blackshear (D- Dayton) to create the Adopt-a-Trail program.
The bill would require the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to establish the program in which volunteer groups would help keep up Ohio's trails.
"We want to encourage Ohioans to help keep our state clean and beautiful," Sen. Wilson said. "I was honored to have worked on this effort with Sen. Blackshear, and I believe this will benefit all of our communities."
The Ohio Senate sent the bill to the Ohio House for further consideration.
