COLUMBUS—State Senators Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) and Sandra O'Brien (R-Ashtabula) today announced the Senate's unanimous passage of their bill providing an additional $465 million of federal funding to help Ohioans struggling to pay rent and utilities during the pandemic, including a combined $54 million for Warren, Hamilton and Butler counties.

"Senate Bill 110 is further proof that the Senate is committed to providing relief to help our families and our workforce find safety, stability and hope for the future," said Wilson. "I am grateful my Senate colleagues moved quickly on this critical bill to help Ohioans, and I trust the House and the Governor will do the same."

In October of 2020, Ohio distributed $55.2 million for Ohio families to help make mortgage, rent and utility payments.

"We owe it to our constituents to ensure these dollars are distributed thoughtfully, fairly and in a way that will have the biggest impact for the people of Ohio," said O’Brien. "I am proud to join Senator Wilson and my colleagues in moving this bill as quickly as possible through the Senate."

To date, more than $2.5 billion in funding has been approved by the General Assembly for Ohio’s communities and schools as they continue to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senate Bill 110 will now be sent to the House for further consideration.
