Wilson Announces 1,000 New Jobs Coming to Southwest Ohio

COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) today applauds the recent announcement made by Amazon to open its fourth Ohio fulfillment center in Monroe, Ohio, which will create more than 1,000 full-time positions in addition to the existing 6,000 Ohioans currently employed by Amazon.
"Our work in the Statehouse has been focused on making Ohio the most attractive place in the nation to make investments, start a business and establish a career,” said Senator Wilson. “Over the past few months, we’ve seen very clear examples of our hard work paying off, and I am pleased that Amazon has chosen to expand its existing relationship with Ohio by choosing to build its new center in Warren County."
The company recently announced an upcoming fulfillment center in North Randall, and it currently operates fulfillment centers in Etna and Obetz. In addition to the fulfillment centers, there are more than 65,000 authors, sellers, and developers growing their businesses through the Amazon platform here in Ohio.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.39 percent, 10-year tax credit for the Amazon facility, which is expected to generate $26.7 million in new payroll.
Amazon is one of the leading players in the e-commerce industry and will use the new warehouse in Monroe to help speed deliveries and expand its presence throughout the U.S.
