Wilson Celebrates Division II State Basketball Champions

COLUMBUS —State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) recognized the Winton Woods High School Girls Basketball Teams for winning the OHSAA Division II State Championship.
"I was honored to have this remarkable group of student athletes in the Ohio Senate," said Wilson. "They are a group with exceptional talent who have set high achievements both on the court and in the classroom. The team has brought an incredible accomplishment to their school and community and I look forward to seeing their continued success."
The Warriors were led by Coach Carlton Gray to an undefeated 27-0 season. The Warriors beat the Whitehouse Anthony Wayne Generals by a score of 70-55. They were led in their win by freshman Strawberry Blakumsee who had 28 points. Due to their dominating performance this season, the Warriors were ranked the best overall team in the state of Ohio, regardless of division.
