COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) on Monday was sworn in by Ohio Supreme Court Justice Judith L. French, to serve his first full four-year term as Senator for Ohio's 7th Senate District. Wilson was previously appointed to serve the remainder of the term of former State Senator Shannon Jones, who now serves as Warren County Commissioner.
"It is an honor to earn the trust and support of the people of the 7th Senate District, and I am grateful to them for sending me back to Columbus," said Wilson. "I am proud of what we accomplished in the 132nd General Assembly, and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Southwest Ohio as we prioritize and debate the issues that are most important to our communities and state."
Wilson, the former chief executive and current chairman of LCNB Corp and LCNB National Bank, offers more than 40 years of local service experience in the private and non-profit sectors. Wilson previously served on the board of trustees at his alma mater, Miami University, as vice chair of the Warren County Port Authority, and as president of the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lebanon City Schools Board of Education. He is a past chair of the American Bankers Association and the Ohio Bankers Association, as well as a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and Otterbein SeniorLife.
In the 132nd General Assembly, Wilson served as chairman of the Joint Committee on Ohio College Affordability, and vice-chairman of the Senate Local Government, Public Safety and Veteran Affairs Committee and the Ohio Retirement Study Council.
Upon graduation from Miami University, Wilson received a commission as a United States Naval Officer and was named a Distinguished Naval Graduate by the Chief of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C. He and his wife, Jill, have four children and five grandchildren. They currently reside in Maineville, Ohio, where they are active members of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.
