Wilson Receives Perfect Legislative Score from American Conservative Union Foundation
COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) recently announced that he has received a perfect score in the 2017 State Legislative Ratings of the American Conservative Union (ACU) Foundation for his voting record during his first year in the Ohio Senate.

The ACU researches and selects a wide range of bills that are before the Ohio General Assembly and reflect key issues such as supporting sound fiscal and economic policies and demanding government integrity and transparency. The ratings are based on legislators' voting records and are designed to give constituents an accurate assessment of their elected officials' values and adherence to conservative principles.

"As a strong advocate for our shared conservative values, I am proud to receive a perfect rating from the ACU," said Wilson. "You can count on me to continue to keep my word and support the issues that matter most in our community."

Senate Bill 145, which bans the practice of dismemberment abortions and sponsored by Senator Wilson, was identified as a key piece of legislation that factored into the ACU's ratings. The Ohio Senate Majority Caucus as a whole received an average score of 97%—the highest score reported in 2017 for any state caucus.

Additionally, key votes included an expansion of small business tax cuts, an effort to provide more legislative oversight of state agencies and overrides of some of the Governor's vetoes of provisions in the state budget.
