Manchester Bill Expanding Voter Protections Receives Further Hearings
COLUMBUS—Senate Bill 225, sponsored by State Senator Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield), had its second hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee this week.
Senate Bill 225 expands the Secretary of State’s Safe at Home address confidentiality program to help victims of violent crime protect their personal information and stay safe.
"No citizen should be afraid to cast their vote in an election," said Senator Manchester. "Expanding this program ensures that Ohioans impacted by violence can protect themselves and their families from future harm."
Ohio's Safe at Home Program currently protects survivors of domestic violence, sexual battery, human trafficking, rape, or menacing by stalking by keeping their personal voter registration information private. Senate Bill 225 extends the same protections to victims of a violent crime.
