Johnson Joins Clermont County Chamber in Honoring Former Senator Uecker
COLUMBUS—State Senator Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) recently joined the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce in honoring former Ohio State Senator Joe Uecker at the Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards.
At the awards ceremony, Senator Uecker received the Martha Dorsey Pacesetter Award, which is given to a public servant who has genuine concern for the welfare of Clermont County and has demonstrated outstanding leadership, character, and citizenship.
“I am proud to call Joe Uecker both a mentor and a friend,” said Senator Johnson. "This honor is well-deserved, and only scratches the surface of his long career of service to his community, the 14th Senate District, and Ohio.”
Senator Uecker preceded Senator Johnson in representing Ohio’s 14th Senate District from 2013 to 2019. Prior to that, he served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2005 to 2012. In addition to the Ohio General Assembly, Senator Uecker’s public service included work as a law enforcement officer, Administrator of the Clermont County Engineer’s Office, Miami Township Trustee, and regional manager of economic development at the Ohio Department of Transportation.
