Controlling Board Approves Funds for Multiple Projects in 20th Senate District

Includes $79.9 million to Pickerington Local School District

COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) this week announced the approval of over $95 million dollars for projects across the 20th Senate District by the state's Controlling Board.

"These funds are an incredible investment in the parks, people, and educational institutions of the district," Schaffer said. "I am eager to see these projects completed and the impact they will have on our community."

Projects approved for funding today include:
  • $79,999,476 to Pickerington Local School District for the construction of a new middle school, and renovations for Tussing Elementary, Lakeview Junior High, Diley Middle School, and Harmon Middle, Pickerington North High School and constructing an add on to Pickerington Central High School.
  • $237,569.78 to Zane State College to expand and improve their Information Technology and Engineering programs.
  • $10,500,000 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for continued renovations at the Salt Fork State Park Lodge located in Guernsey County.
  • $4,548,215.45 to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections for to replace the roof at Southeastern Correctional Institution in Lancaster, Ohio.
  • $211,501.11 to the Ohio Department of Youth Services for design services for the existing vocational building and renovation of a former housing unit into a medical building.
Funds were secured through the state capital appropriations legislation passed as part of the state operating budget and signed into law in June of 2021, in the 134th General Assembly. More information can be found can be found on the Controlling Board website.
