Schaffer Announces Funding for Community Development Projects

COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) announced that Fairfield County will receive $390,000 for park and water quality improvements in multiple communities.

"These funds will help thousands of people have access to our parks and improve water quality in our environment," Schaffer said. "These projects moving forward will continue our communities down the path of success."

  • The funds will support:Park improvements in Bremen that will benefit 1,640 people
  • Park improvements in Fairfield Beach that will benefit 810 people
  • Handicap-accessible ramps in Amanda, which will benefit 700 people
  • Wastewater treatment improvements in Rushville to benefit 230 people


This funding comes from the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation Program. Cities and counties considered U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development non-entitlement communities are eligible to apply for funds biannually. Ohio’s 101 eligible communities are divided between even and odd years of funding, with 49 communities receiving a total of $10,997,450 for 2024.
