COLUMBUS—State Senator Tim Schaffer this week announced grants of more than $44,000 to numerous volunteer fire departments (VFD) throughout the 20th Ohio Senate district.
“Volunteer fire departments are critical to protecting our communities and infrastructure,” Schaffer said. “I am thankful to see the State of Ohio’s continued commitment to these valuable community volunteers and heroes.”
“Volunteer fire departments and the men and women who serve their communities in them are key components in our society,” Schaffer said. “They keep us safe, and it is very important that we provide them with the funds for equipment to keep them safe,” Schaffer said.
Byesville VFD is receiving $9,393 for personal protection equipment and hoses. Liberty Community VFD (Kimbolton) in Guernsey County is receiving $10,000 for personal protection equipment and emergency lighting equipment.
