COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced the state's Controlling Board approval of over $10,000 that will be invested in Zane State College and their Workforce Based Training and Equipment program centered around manufacturing and maintenance.

"This is a great investment by the State of Ohio," Schaffer said. "We are putting our tax dollars to good use in a program that benefits our local students and has a direct impact on our communities and workforce."

The funds are a part of the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) program appropriation awarded from the Ohio Department of Higher Education to support education and training related to industrial maintenance and additive manufacturing.

“The manufacturing industry is experiencing difficulty in hiring skilled workers for industrial maintenance positions,” Schaffer said. “This investment will allow Zane State to build training programs that ensure their students learn with the most relevant and up-to-date industry specific tools and equipment.”
