Schaffer Announces Investment in Major Development in Licking County
COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) announced the Ohio Tax Credit Authority has granted a $5,809,819 tax credit for the second phase of the Heath Central Park project.
This new development near the Newark Earthworks will become 24 multifamily residential buildings, assisted living facilities, public spaces, and recreational facilities for year-round athletic events. The project will create 376 permanent jobs at the site and support 575 construction jobs.
"I am elated this part of Heath is being redeveloped, creating jobs, housing for families, recreation options, and opportunities for everyone in Licking County," Schaffer said. "This tax credit will truly help the project continue moving forward."
This tax credit was awarded through the fourth round of the Transformational Mixed-Use Development program, which has been supported by Senator Schaffer and the General Assembly. In total, this round of the program is assisting with nine mixed-use projects throughout Ohio, which will create more than $1.1 billion in new payroll and $2 billion in investments in the state.
