Schaffer Announces Release Of Critical State Funds For Fairfield County
COLUMBUS—State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) announced the approval of over $3.18 million for projects in Fairfield County by the state's Controlling Board.
The projects approved for funding today include:
• $2,784,360 in State Disaster Relief Program funds to assist local governments with recovery costs associated with the July 26-28, 2025 flooding and severe storm damages
• $400,000 in support of the Harcum House building purchase and renovations
“I am proud to see the state Controlling Board release these much-needed funds to Fairfield County for flood recovery assistance,” Schaffer said. “I am also proud to have voted for this funding that will allow for Harcum House to purchase and renovate a new facility that will help provide critical support to Fairfield County’s most vulnerable children.”
These funds were secured through the state capital appropriations legislation, House Bill 2, which was signed into law in June of 2024 during the 135th General Assembly and the state operating budget, House Bill 96, during the 136th General Assembly.
