Schaffer Announces Relief Funds for Senior Care Centers

COLUMBUS—State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced that several senior centers and adult day services providers in the 20th Senate District will receive CARES Act funding from the Ohio Department of Aging.
"COVID-19 disproportionately impacted older adults and those reliant on adult care providers who were unable to access or receive services during the pandemic," Schaffer said. "I am proud to see the state put these relief funds to good use providing support for one of our most vulnerable populations."
The providers that will receive the funds include:
Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center in Cambridge: $350,000
Muskingum County Center for Seniors in Zanesville: $28,000
The Carr Center adult day service in Zanesville: $7,300
The Salvation Army adult day service in Lancaster: $9,200 These funds are intended to assist with the safe re-opening and operation of meal programs, including costs associates with COVID-19 cleaning and sanitation supplies, personal protective equipment, emergency preparedness procedures and protocols, preparation supplies, technology solutions, and other expenses.
