COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced the approval of $47,241 by the state’s Controlling Board for dredge pipe replacement in Buckeye Lake.
"Investing in Ohio's natural resources is crucial for preserving the beauty of our state," Schaffer said. "I am proud to have supported the purchase of the Buckeye Lake dredger and happy to see the continued support and improvements made to Buckeye Lake by ODNR and the State of Ohio.”
State funding will go toward the purchase and installation of new piping at the Buckeye Lake dredge site. The new piping will transport water separated from dredged sediment back to the lake and replace the thin, worn out existing piping.
Funding for this project came as part of the state operating budget, House Bill 110 of the 134th General Assembly, which was signed into law in June of 2021.
