COLUMBUS—State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) issued the following statement today on Worthington Foods expansion project in Zanesville:
“I’m thrilled to see another project in Southeast Ohio receive a Job-Creation Tax Credit. The facility expansion at Worthington Foods will create new economic opportunities for many families in the region and will further strengthen a growing and recovering economy in Muskingum County. This would not be possible without the work of the Ohio Development Services Agency, Worthington Foods, Mike Jacoby with OhioSE, JobsOhio, and Matt Abbott with the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority.”
Worthington Foods will receive a 1.240 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the expansion project at its Zanesville facility. The expansion will create an anticipated 40 new full-time positions that will add $2 million to its already $20.4 million annual payroll. Worthington Foods produces refrigerated and frozen plant-based protein products for the MorningStar Farms brand.
