COLUMBUS - State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced the rollout of the state's capital budget, a $3.5 billion investment in Ohio's infrastructure and local community projects.
Senator Schaffer (R-Lancaster) secured more than $5.1 million in funding for multiple projects across the Athens, Fairfield, Guernsey, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum, and Pickaway counties.
The legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, and the bill funds needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state. This year’s capital budget includes investments into Ohio’s schools, community centers, natural resources, and more.
“I am proud to have helped secure this funding in this year’s Capital Budget,” Senator Schaffer said. “These investments will have a tremendous impact on building and maintaining our communities in the 20th Senate District. From Buckeye Lake to Lancaster Festival to the Byesville Patriot Park, these capital investments reflect priorities of our local community leaders."
Projects that have secured funding in the 20th District include:
Fairfield: (total funding: $1,250,000)
The Capital Budget will now go to the Governor's desk for signing.
