State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) is pleased to announce that $1,466,354 in grant funding has been awarded to the city of Columbiana for traffic signal replacements.

“Updating infrastructure across our roadways improves traffic congestion and safety no matter the size of the city,” said Senator Cutrona. “I look forward to seeing the completion of this project and the benefits it will bring to the city of Columbiana.

The funds will be used for the replacement of outdated traffic signals at three intersections within the State Route 14/46/164 triangle. The upgrades will include new poles, pedestrian signals and detectors, traffic signals, and modern signal controllers.

The funding is awarded through Ohio Department of Transportation's Small City Program. The program supports critical road infrastructure improvements that enhance safety, accessibility, and economic development. The Small City Program focuses on supporting roadway, safety, and pedestrian projects in cities with populations between 5,000 and 24,999 that are not part of a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
