Cutrona Announces Funding for Youngstown Railroad Yard
COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) announced that the Lansingville Yard Project in Youngstown has received a grant for over $1.4 million from the Ohio Rail Development Commission.
"This funding is critical for this project to be completed," said Cutrona. "This provides the region with efficient railways, economic growth, and opportunities. This project is a testament that great things can happen when private and public entities work together."
This project will create a new five-track rail yard and the installation of approximately 15,000 feet of new track. The Lansingville Yard Project will centralize the Youngstown and Southeastern Roalroad's (YSRR) warehousing of loaded railcars. Currently, YSRR is spreading out its storage of loaded railcars and this project will enhance efficiency.
