Cutrona Announces Funding to the Youngstown Business Incubator
COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) announced the Appalachian Regional Commission has selected the Youngstown Business Incubator to receive over $1.7 million for the Rising Tides Initiative.
This investment and initiative will help current manufacturers in the region enter into the microchip, advanced energy, defense, and aerospace industries.
"These dollars will give businesses the opportunity to grow and thrive here in the Valley," said Cutrona. "It is crucial that we are creating opportunities for residents of the area to be successful and make this region the best place to live, work, and raise a family."
This project is expected to improve 90 businesses and create two new businesses and 20 new jobs.
The funding is part of the federal Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) Initiative, which aims to help support economic development and workforce efforts in areas impacted by coal-related job losses. More than $8.2 million for eight projects in Ohio were selected by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
