COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) introduced legislation to increase penalties for animal abuse offenders.
"After years of working on this bill today, I dropped this crucial piece of legislation that keeps pets safe," said Cutrona. "It is important that those who are harming our pets are held accountable for their actions."
This legislation would increase all penalties in current law when someone is convicted of animal abuse. Additionally, it would require mandatory prison time.
Next, this bill will be referred to a Senate committee. You can follow this legislation here.
